Matched Kleersheen Colors Make Great Change In Upholstery Fabrics “Something new and revolu tionary in upholstery pile fabrics” is the keynote of the conversa tions and discussions at Blumen- thal plants now. The story of the most beautiful and the most dur able of all upholstery coverings was revealed in an attractive blue and white pamphlet recently cir culated as the news of ^‘Matched Kleersheen Colors” was announc ed by The Shelton Looms. Matched Kleersheen Colors has been adopted as the slogan which describes the superior dyeing technique of The Shelton Looms. The word Kleersheen describes the brilliance in texture and tone that has made The Shelton Looms tops” in the field of upholstery pile fabrics. These same brilliant colors will now be available in different qualities and fabrics. This means that should you de sire one chair covered in mohair and another in frieze you could have the identical shades in both fabrics. Matched shades in dif ferent patterns and fabrics have solved a very old problem for housewives and home planners. (Turn to Page Five) Cafeteria Undergoes Changes Recently While the majority of the Caromount employees were spending their vacations on the sunny beaches and the cool re freshing mountains, some stayed at the mill and held the fort. One of the jobs completed dur ing this time by the “stay be- hinds” was the face lifting of the cafeteria. Frank Cockrell, Dowd Cotton, Johnny Salsburg, Charles Sego, and Wesley Smith with the able supervision of Floyd Hedgepeth started out to complete the job before everyone return ed to work again. It was a big job for this short while, but the boys managed to finish on time. The cafeteria was all bright and shiny with a new coat of paint when everyone came to work after vacation. Now some time has passed and that new ness is beginning to be impair ed by some of the employees when (Turn to Page Four) Caromount Laboratory Aids Tobacco Farming Paul E. Green, Jr., Re search Assistant Professor of Ag ricultural Engineering at the Uni versity of North Carolina State College Tobacco Station at Ox ford, North Carolina wrote the following letter to Manager E. H. Suessmuth on August 7 in con nection with their use of the Spectrophotometer owned by Sid ney Blumenthal & Company, Inc., at the Caromount Division in Rocky Mount. “I am writing to express the heartfelt thanks of myself and the others of us here at the Ox ford Experiment Station for the generous cooperation given us in connection with the use of your spectrophotometer. I regret that I was unable to see you and thank you personally for this. It is completely impossible to esti mate how much time and effort was bypassed by your timely of fer of assistance. It would have been at least a year or maybe two before we would have had as complete a set of data on to bacco colors as we now have, thanks to you and Mr. Hedge peth.” I only wish there were some small way in which we could repay your kindness. As I men tioned to Mr. Hedgepeth, We would be very happy to have you visit u§ here and if there seem to be any of our practices which you would like to put into op eration at your place, we would be delighted to help you do so.” “Again many thanks for your kindnesses.” The Tobacco Station used the Spectrophotometer to examine the color of tobacco leaves in order to set up some tests to be used in their experiments in curing tobacco. A letter bas been received also from Van Watson of the Watson Farms, Rocky Mount, N. C., ex pressing appreciation to the Com pany in behalf of the tobacco far mers, for the Company’s aid in working out more efficient meth ods for curing tobacco.
